LDCA Terms and Conditions
By booking your place at London Cheer and Dance Academy (LDCA) you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
Payments and Charges
Class fees are due before the start of every term. All payments are processed through our website via stripe or our payment platform, GoCardless.
When a payment is due you will receive an email containing the “product” link or an invoice prompting you to action your payment.
If it is your first time paying via GoCardless, you will be instructed to set up your GoCardless mandate this is referred to as a direct debit on the website, however it is not a direct debit, you will always have to action the payment before any funds leave your account.
In your email or your invoice you will be given a date to complete the transaction. Payments not received by the given date will incur a £10 late payment fee.
If you are having any problems or delays in paying, it is vital that you contact the LDCA team as early as possible so that we can assist you. We are always able to create a payment plan if required.
Refunds, Exchanges, Cancellations and Absences
We understand that sometimes circumstances change or perhaps your child might change their mind about wanting to continue attending classes.
If this is the case and you do wish to cancel your booking, you must ensure that you inform us of this in writing via emailing info@ldcacademy.co.uk.
Your withdrawal from classes will take immediate effect and you will not receive a refund for any classes that you have purchased after the date of your written withdrawal.
If you have not yet paid your term fees at the time of your written withdrawal, you will still be expected to pay any outstanding fees for the whole term.
Regarding absences; please note there are no refunds or deduction of payment for absences due to illness, holidays or other engagements such as school plays, birthday parties or other extracurricular activities.
Regarding shop purchases made either online or in-person, please be advised that we do not offer refunds, however we can exchange unworn items, still in their new condition, for different item(s) of the same price or a different size of the same item(s).
Training attire
During your child’s training session, it is extremely important that they arrive in appropriate training attire, to enable them to participate safely in the session.
What we deem as appropriate training attire as clothing and equipment which is; age appropriate, comfortable, and stretchy allowing the athlete to move around freely, such as:
– A t-shirt
– Leggings
– Shorts or Joggers (note: Please ensure that shorts are at least mid-thigh length and form fitting, loose shorts or joggers are a danger to both themselves and others. Some athletes often feel uncomfortable if clothing that is too loose, moves out of place, ultimately limiting their participation in sessions.)
– Trainers are also a must. Its not mandatory to purchase cheer shoes specifically however please ensure that trainers are not bulky and have a smooth sole.
Please also ensure your child is coming to their session in trainers or with trainers to change into.
Uggs, crocs, school shoes, sandals and other non-trainer shoes are extremely dangerous will not be allowed to be worn during sessions.
– All Jewellery must be removed before the start of the session. This is including, earrings of any size, necklaces, bracelets, watches and rings.
– Hair must be away from the face and tied up for the duration of the training session.
- Please also send your child to their sessions with plenty of water. You may also provide them with a healthy snack if you feel it necessary, however there may not be time for them to have a full snack
Physical Contact
Parents should be aware that due to the nature of Cheerleading it is sometimes necessary for coaches to have physical contact – known as “Spotting” or “Supporting” – whilst an athlete is completing a skill or learning a new one. Athletes will also be in physical contact with each other during Stunts.
Athlete and Parent Behaviour
At LDCA we pride ourselves on being a friendly, supportive, and inclusive environment, in which everyone is welcome.
We ask that both athletes and parents are always respectful and civil to each other and staff members, during both in-person and virtual interactions and conversations. Should you have an issue that you need to address, you can do so by speaking to your child’s coach at the end of their session or by contacting LDCA via email info@ldcacademy.co.uk
Collecting your child
Children must be collected by a parent, carer, or responsible named adult at the end of their session. We ask you to please arrive on time, however if for any reason you are running late, please make every effort to get in contact with your child’s coach or a member of the LDCA team. If your child is in a senior team (and in year 7 or above), and you would like them to travel home alone, please inform us of this in writing via email.
Medical information
Parents/Carers must keep us updated on any medical conditions, medications, and injuries that your child may have, that may impact on their ability to participate in the session.
Photography, Videos and Social Media
During training sessions, showcases and competitions; photographs and videos may be taken for the purpose of social media, marketing, and performance feedback during training sessions. If you do not wish for your child to feature in any of our social media or marketing, please let us know by emailing info@ldcacademy.co.uk.
